The Tajik people have a rich tradition of hospitality and meeting them is sure to enhance your understanding of their way of life. Both Alexander the Great and Marco Polo travelled through the region and, with the destruction of the Bamiyan statues in Afghanistan, the 19m high Tajik Buddha is the largest Buddhist statue in Central Asia.
