Conservation group WWF says it will invest millions of US dollars in preserving Vietnam's stunning Mekong River and surrounding areas.
Efforts have already been made by the wildlife group to ensure that the region remains the perfect habitat for animals and a beautiful place to visit for those on Vietnam holidays.
"The Mekong region is very significant in terms of diversity," Eric Coull from WWF-Indochina told local newspaper the Daily.
He added that in terms of wildlife, Vietnam is one of the most important countries on earth as it plays host to numerous rare animals including the Sao La, an endangered species of wild ox.
Travellers flock from miles around to explore Vietnam's beautiful jungles which are packed with all kinds of weird and wonderful creatures.
Eco-tourists visiting the country can help to highlight the plight of many of these species which are in danger of losing their habitat due to deforestation.
