An+eco-adventure+for+those+on+Vietnam+holidays

Those who are concerned about the environment and are heading off on Vietnam holidays look set to benefit from a new eco-tourism site being built in the country, it has been reported.

The local government has given the green light to the project aimed at enticing more travellers to the region and to highlight the environmental issues Vietnam faces, local news website the VietNamNet Bridge says.

More than 8.7 billion Vietnamese dong is being invested in building the eco-tourism area in Ca Mau Province which is expected to open up to tourists towards the end of 2010.

Ca Mau Province is already a popular spot with tourists looking for an adventure which allows them to see the natural world up close, with the province already welcoming 3,131 foreign visitors this year.

Situated in the southernmost tip of the country, the region is located in the Mekong Delta and is a haven for wildlife.

One of the most popular spots for travellers in the province is the Ngoc Hien bird sanctuary which covers a huge area of jungle.

It is one of the biggest natural bird sanctuaries in Vietnam and is used by both researchers and tourists to observe indigenous species. ADNFCR-1391-ID-18524079-ADNFCR
