Vietnam is oozing with culture and visitors to this magnificent country will experience traditions influenced by China, south-east Asia and even western nations.
Although many of Vietnam's attractions are historic, construction is currently underway to build what looks set to be one of the most awe-inspiring sites in Indochina.
Building work is already underway on the Bai Dinh Pagoda which is to be the largest pagoda in the country.
But more than this, the pagoda will house the heaviest Buddha statue and bell in south-east Asia as well as 500 two metre-tall arhat statutes.
Travellers are expected to flock to catch a glimpse of the amazing spectacle which is being built in Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District.
The pagoda will stand just two kilometres from a similar building which was erected 900 years ago.
On January 6th each year, a festival is held in the region to celebrate the pagoda with entertainment including wrestling and games of chess and traditional rituals such as the worship of martyrs.
