Chinese+city+of+Xuchang+unearths+new+historical+gem
The central Chinese province of Henan has produced one of the most stunning archaeological finds of recent times.

An almost complete human skull fossil has been found in Xuchang in the province, which dates back 100,000 years and has been hailed as the greatest discovery since the Peking Man.

Xuchang and its surrounding province itself has long been famous for its historic significance, with visitors to China wishing to see more of the historical and archaeological heritage of the country heading away from the lights of Shanghai and Beijing to more remote locations.

Tourist highlights include the nearby Lanzhou Baling Bridge on the river Qingni – legend has it that the bridge was the last meeting place for historic Chinese military leaders Cao Cao and Guan Yu.

And the stunning Zhengzhou Chunqiu Tower, located in the city centre, is a beautiful centrepiece to the Guan Yu Temple. Tourists flock to the site, said to be the location of Guan Yu's reading from his famous book Spring and Autumn.ADNFCR-1391-ID-18442660-ADNFCR
