Tree+planting+programme+kicks+off+in+Vietnam

A tree planting scheme involving the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has begun in Vietnam.

WWF joined Intel Products Vietnam and Dong Nai Province to implement the programme at the Vinh Cuu Natural Reserve, Thanhnien News reported.

It is a 700-hour volunteer initiative that will span 1.8 hectares of land on Vinh Cuu.

Rick Howarth, general manager of Intel Products Vietnam, said it was a "community programme" that was part of the company's "sustainable engagement to support the Vinh Cuu Natural Reserve and raise public awareness to protect the forest".

The company pledged its commitment to the programme for months to come.

Vietnam has received more than 2.6 million international visitors since the year began, according to Travel News Gazette.

It cited figures from the General Statistics Office, which showed that foreign visitors from the Phillippines, Singapore and Thailand increased in number during the period, while number from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea decreased.ADNFCR-1391-ID-18737915-ADNFCR
