From the highlands and national parks of Ecuador to the culture and huge swathes of jungle in Brazil, one holiday company is saying that real travelers head to South America.

The city is surrounded by rolling hills and the opportunity to trek around them is one that many travelers would not want to miss.

However, for those looking for real adventure, Brazil is the place to head.

As the biggest country in South America, the country has more on offer than its neighbours purely because of its size.

Lonely Planet has said that the country is brilliant for travellers, as it offers a huge array of varied options, from "manic metropolises" to "pristine beaches" and "steamy jungles".

The travel guide compendium says: "While it may not be the Eden of popular imagination, Brazil is still a country of staggering beauty.

"There are stretches of unexplored rainforest, islands with divine tropical beaches and endless rivers. Then there are the people themselves, who delight visitors with their energy and joy."
