A solar eclipse expected to take place in Greenland next month has attracted the attention of both amateur and expert astronomers, according to Sermitsiak.
The Greenland-based news source reported that the total solar eclipse will last around two minutes and 14 seconds.
It will be visible in northern Greenland, with a number of tourists and astronomers expected to flock to the town of Qaannaaq to view the full eclipse.
Other parts of the country are set to experience a partial eclipse, with Greenland's capital city, Nuuk, expected to see 60 per cent of the sun disappear during the eclipse.
Tourists visiting Greenland have a variety of activities to choose from. Greenland.com reports that both whale and musk ox safaris are popular with travellers, depending on the season.
Other activities for holidaymakers in Greenland include visiting Ilulissat Icefjord - a Unesco World Heritage Site - as well as experiencing the Northern Lights.
