

A variety of events and activities will commemorate China's third Cultural Heritage Day in Beijing this month, according to reports.
Visitors will be able to witness a wide range of exhibitions at museums, memorial halls and temples around the capital city for free on Saturday 14th of June with special attention put on the upcoming Olympics.
Cui Guomin, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage, said: The municipal government sets great store by commemorative activities, because they are an important aspect of the 2008 Beijing Olympic cultural events."
Popular locations for events on the day will be the Summer Palace and the Great Wall with colourful parades and displays of Chinese culture set to impress participants.
"The purpose of the activity is to review Beijing's cultural heritage protection achievements and showcase ancient capital scenarios under the People's Olympics Show Beijing Charm theme," said Mr Guomin.
Over half a million people will visit Beijing during the Olympic Games period, according to the Chinese government.
