Go+wild+in+intriguing+India+
It's hard to think of the Asian nation of India without conjuring up images of some of the mysterious and often rare creatures that inhabit the country's diverse landscape.

Home to a fast diminishing number of wild tigers as well as the Indian elephant, the country is truly an animal lover's delight.

This week, plans for the creation of an Indian eco-tourism society have been launched which would aim to raise awareness among visitors about conservation and use eco-tourism as a means to benefits local communities, according to reports.

The group would also push for the introduction of an environmental law course in future years, with help from organisations such as the World Wildlife Fund, the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Pacific Asia Travel Association, Express TravelWorld says.

Workshops are set to be organised by the society, where tourism chiefs and environmental experts would discuss how travellers can help to conserve the country's wildlife.

India has one of the most diverse habitats on earth ranging from the tropical rainforest of the Andaman Islands to the coniferous forest of the Himalayas.

And, with more than 500 wildlife sanctuaries to choose from, travellers hoping to experience some of India's wild side will never be disappointed. ADNFCR-1391-ID-18429286-ADNFCR
