High+hopes+for+Oman+eco-tourism

Already being given the seal of approval by Vogue and the Sunday Telegraph, Oman is now setting its sights on "preserving the environment" and "protecting its fragile eco-system" as travellers become more attracted to the country.

As the oldest independent state in the Arab world, the country has a whole host of un-spoilt beaches, historical monuments and a rich cultural past, all of which it wants to protect, according to the Times of Oman.

Oman Air, the countries national carrier told the newspaper that it "wants to make sure that Oman is and continues to be a destination of choice with every world-class tourist and traveller".

According to ASIATravelTips.com, the Middle Eastern state is "differentiating itself culturally and economically" from its neighbours by attempting to preserve the natural environment and surroundings to capture the burgeoning eco-tourism market.

Oman is one of few countries in the region which has escaped militant Islamic violence, making it a hot spot for travellers to experience the true beauty of the Middle East. ADNFCR-1391-ID-18594969-ADNFCR
