

Tourist officials in Oman have highlighted their commitment to sustainable tourism and are educating others on the importance of preserving the environment, it has been reported.
Representatives from the country's Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs and Environment Society have all cited the significance of eco-tourism in terms of the country's future, according to local news provider Al Bawaba.
They spoke at a seminar designed to educate people on how Oman's environment and tourism industry are interlinked.
It included discussions on Omani environmental regulations, eco-tourism and eco-design, marine ecology and tourist developments.
The event was held by Omran, a government-owned firm which works towards expanding Oman's tourism industry.
Wael Al Lawati, chief ecexutive of tourism industry group Omran, said: "We strive to continuously work with our partners to identify innovative solutions for the planning and implementation of environmentally-friendly systems and procedures."
