Celebrate+carnival+in+Venezuela+
February is the perfect time for travelling to the unique South American country of Venezuela as it is not only drenched in sunshine but it is this month that local people celebrate carnival.

As the calendar marks 40 days before Holy week or Eater Sunday, the whole nation seems to head to the streets to take part in the festivities.

Few nationalities of earth can enjoy themselves like the Venezuelans - with the heart of the celebrations usually said to be in the town El Callao in Estado Bolívar.

The atmosphere is heavily influenced by the country's Caribbean neighbours and is the perfect way to while away the days for those looking for more from their trip that a quick sunbathe.

Local people dress up in all manner of weird and wonderful costumes for the event – traditionally dressing as kings, queens, courtiers, jesters and other regal figures.

Different celebrations are held throughout the country and each has a unique flavour which is both exotic and exhilarating.

Although many travellers opt to catch February's festivities, Venezuela makes the perfect spot for a holiday as travel is suitable there all year round.

Nature spotters who are keen to catch a glimpse of its famous waterfalls, however, are urged to head there in the rainy season - from May to November - when they are at their most spectacular. ADNFCR-1391-ID-18416115-ADNFCR
