Cambodia+and+Vietnam+unite+to+protect+forests+

Cambodia and Vietnam have agreed to co-operate on protecting forests in both countries to ensure their "irreplaceable natural heritage" is maintained.

Both Indochinese nations are becoming increasingly popular with eco-tourists who can explore the lush jungle that each has on offer.

But under this new agreement, further efforts will be made to ensure the forests are protected, with each country helping to advise the other on the best way forward.

The decision came at the end of a visit by officials from Vietnam's Forest Protection who met their counterparts in Cambodia to share information.

Organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), it is hoped the visit will benefit both countries and ensure that forests are protected from poachers and illegal loggers.

Mark E Grindley, WWF technical advisor in central Vietnam: "The Vietnam government is encouraging the inter-agency cooperation necessary to address the problem and we are pleased to support an exchange of ideas with Cambodia, where there are some highly successful models from which to learn."ADNFCR-1391-ID-18547630-ADNFCR
